Lauren’s Bridal Photo Shoot at Mandalay Canal

By  |  0 Comments

Lauren’s bridal photo shoot at Mandalay Canal in Las Colinas was a zesty blend of urban and traditional styles. It’s not difficult to see why the Canal is such a popular spot for bridal portraits. It’s European architecture, cobblestone walkways, dramatic stairways, and, of course, the water provide myriad opportunities for dramatic photo shots.

Bride: Lauren
Groom: Antonio
Wedding Date: 8/17/2013

Lauren is exquisite in her Pronovias wedding dress from Lulu’s Bridal in Dallas. I can only imagine the oohs and aahs she received walking the aisle. The windswept day only added to the charm of her photographs. Shelley Foster Photography captured the images.

Lauren’s favorite memory from her wedding was the last dance she and Antonio shared. While the guests were preparing for the couple’s send off, they enjoyed an intimate moment together. It made for some memorable photos.

Antonio is from Venezuela. Lauren and Antonio wanted to incorporate traditional Venezuelan cuisine into their meal. They were fortunate to find a caterer Jim Lee Events who had experience cooking a favorite Venezuelan dish called Pebellón criollo. It was a perfect setting for family and friends to try this traditional dish. It made Antonio’s family and friends feel at home.

Her advice to newly engaged brides? “Take a bit of time to enjoy being a fiancé. I waited a month before starting any wedding planning. It was really nice sharing news of our engagement and not worrying about any wedding details.

Determine the three top things you want for your wedding with your fiancé. These items will determine where you spend the majority of your time researching. For us, it was the food, photographer and reception venue.”

A special thanks to Shelley Foster Photography for sharing Lauren’s bridal photo shoot with us.
