I found a dress on an internet site that I like, but I don't really know anything about the site. I like the dress, but I don't know if I should buy a dress off the internet without trying it on. Has anyone had any experience with this? What do you'all think?

I wouldn't recommend buying from a picture alone. You don't really know what it will look like on and once you get it on you might hate it! You really can't see all the detail in the photo. Plus gown manufacturers sizes are all over the board so you may not get the right size.

I'm with Kool Kat. You really don't have any idea on how it is going to fit. Do they allow returns? I think that it would be better to take the picture to bridal shops in the area and see if they can duplicate it.

I agree with the previous 2 members. There are too many variables when it comes to buying a dress directly off the internet. It may be the wrong style for you, color and or as they mentioned it may be the wrong size. You could maybe get it altered, but that's not a guarantee either. If they have an unconditional return policy without a high restocking fee you may be okay. Dallas and Fort Worth has so many great bridal shops why don't you take the photo to some of the shops to see if they carry a similiar style? Who knows you may try on a similar style and decide you don't like it at all. Plus, half the fun of getting a gown is trying them on-dreaming of the day you walk down the aisle. If you are on a tight budget you might want to try Lulu's attic. They have drastically marked down sample gowns. They are part of Lulu's Bridal Boutique. Another option is to take the photo to a custom gownmaker and have a custom gown made. Often, its not as expensive as you might think. Weddingwishes.com has custom gownmakers listed in the Bridal Fashions or Alterations categories. Most fabric stores have a list of recommended seamstresses on hand. Good Luck!

I vote no. There are too many variables -the worst being that you may hate the dress on and than you are stuck with it. i think that it's best to take the picture to a bridal shop near you and see if they have something similar.
