| Oliver's Army started out as an idea when Dallas bassist and high school English teacher Michael Alves bought a CD of other musicians performing Elvis Costello songs. Alves thought, "I'm a big Elvis Costello fan. Why don't I start an Elvis Costello tribute band?" In July 2001, Alves placed a musicians-wanted ad searching for like-minded players. The band now includes Oliver's Army: Joe Schwartzott, Chris Stillo, Russell Bartholomee, Mark Pittman, and Mike Alves. | |||||||||
